J
Jaggies: An informal term for the visual stair-stepping edges that occur in an image when the image resolution is too low.
J-bolt: A 'J' shaped bolt that is threaded on the long straight portion of the 'J' and used in sign construction.
JPEG (Joint Photographic Exports Group): A common file format for digital colour images. The JPEG standard utilizes a 'loss' data compression method, meaning that in order to reduce the file size a small amount of sharpness from the original image is sacrificed.
Justified: Describes copy that is set with even margins on the left and right (achieved by irregular word and letter spacing). |
